LOVE that film, Dave.  

There's that one scene where his family's on a picnic and his daughter points to a bunny. His wife makes a comment about how beautiful God made the world and Darwin watches as it goes under a log. You see, in a time lapse, what he's thinking- what happens to that bunny and all the life in that little chaotic space on the other side of the log.  You see the brutality of it all and that, as a close observer of nature, his view was that the world was full of untold suffering.

Hmmm...No need to stop our beliefs. Perhaps a need to adjust them with new knowledge.

How can you learn anything while in Nirvana? Conflict teaches many lessons, Heaven might be that reward for actually learning. Hell, I don't know.

@syd that was a powerful scene indeed.

@lima ya when I went back last night found another one called "and the bible tells me so" about how modern Christians twist the bible to discriminate against homosexuality. Most of my suggestions are documentaries now.

@jay according to the movie Darwin wouldn't publish unless his devout wife approved. She kept her faith but doubted the literal story of creation.
