Thanks to Lima for offering a few custom CSS codes for working with the activity feed!
I've also seen comments about how folks don't like the way it runs down the page (when it includes the extra info) and also how we've had to limit the latest activity from 20 down to 12, just so it wouldn't run alone on the right hand side down an essentially empty page. I thought maybe a scroll bar would be a neat and handy thing to have, so we can still go back to the full 20…

Well, Ning rolled out its new Activity Feed format for all networks today, as I had mentioned in the Admin Blog this month and last.
As of yet I see no way to revert back to the old activity feed, and I get the feeling this is the new format for all Ning networks (maybe they are trying to justify an upcoming price hike). …

I had not heard of this, and it sounded so unreal that I had to Google it, and saw sources including the NYTimes and a Wikipedia entry...

One of the things I've touched upon before in a blog and in the Admin Blog is that Ning has released a new Like Button with more options. For example, by enabling it, we can now favorite blogs and…

Just today, I came across an eBay Buy It Now auction that I had to get...the deal was just great. It's a Dell Optiplex with a dual core 64 bit cpu, 2gb ram, a 320gb hd, and DVD/RW drive...for thirty-eight bucks, plus 22 shipping from WA state. It'll make a good upgrade to my wife's rarely-used office computer.
However, it does not come with an operating system.
I have 32-bit install discs for WinXP...but I want to install a 64-bit OS, and I'd rather…

One of my favorite classic songs--and a song that is really hard to nail both the feeling and the high notes, but ESPECIALLY the feeling--is Blue Bayou. It conveys more than a longing, yearning, dreaming...it conveys the vast solitudes of melancholy, hunger, bittersweet lonesomeness....IF it is done right.
I've even seen versions by the two most popular singers of this song, Roy Orbison and Linda Ronstadt, that fell a little short of evoking the smoldering passion,…

I've been enjoying going into tb when I can, and I've been hoping to catch Skibby in there. Today I found out he had been trying to join the discussion for a while, but not hearing back when he asked why the same password he had was no longer working.
Please allow Skibby to enter tokbox. I am not sure if he was banned, but we were chatting today and he said his password was no longer recognized, and that he had contacted Diesel 8 days ago about the situation, but… Continue

(note: I had originally written this at 7:00am, but wanted to show it to the team first, for input, and then to Bonnie. Bonnie and I talked about the situation and she has found this to be an acceptable resolution to the issue reports we received last night and today.)

Save me some time and allow me to put this in one public place, as a personal blog and not an…

It's no secret that we need more of your caustic wit, wry observations, futilitarian outlook on the USA, wrapped in a bow of Teutonic guile, and something which might even approach miasmic charm.
But you cannot escape your past.
I will be posting various German "boy bands" you managed back in the day, if you do not return promptly and start insulting us again! I'll be starting with this…
