I easily get it confused.

I'm using a small canon cam and wish to upgrade to HD.  Any suggestions?  What are your thoughts of using a cam with batteries vs a rechargble built-in battery?  Any thoughts on who the best retailers are (online?) and where the best bargains can be found during the holidays?  Has anyone been shopping / monitoring the pricing?

Also, what editing program(s) do you use?  I've used WMM and IMovie and find both rather clumsy when more tabs / effects are added.  Granted, I might not be…
